A NOTE FROM PRINCIPAL EGAN |
Returning to a New "Normal" |
| Dear New Canaan High School Families, It has been a busy and productive first month at NCHS, and October promises to be just as productive. October is often equated with change. The seasons change, the leaves change, the days get shorter and cooler. What hasn’t changed is the positivity, enthusiasm, flexibility, and eagerness our students have shown to get back to a new “normal,” and it’s refreshing. We are thrilled to see students adapting well and actively engaged in the classroom. |

So many good things are happening this month. Fall sports are well underway, and it’s been an exciting season so far. Our annual Club Fair will once again be held virtually during the week of October 4th (details to follow soon). The fair showcases the many clubs, activities, and volunteer opportunities for our students. Students should email the student leaders or advisors listed for those clubs in which they have an interest. The organizations will offer information about how students can make a difference to NCHS and the community. Financial Aid Night is scheduled virtually on October 14th at 7:00 PM, presented by the School Counselors. Homecoming Spirit Week is scheduled from October 18th through the 22nd, ending with a bonfire on the evening of Friday, October 22nd and the homecoming football game on Saturday, October 23rd. Our NCTV students are excited about the opportunity to film games, interview for stories, and produce amazing broadcasts. The award-winning theatre department will begin rehearsals for the fall play and musical. Our campus has come to life again. Yes, some things look and feel different, yet the excitement and vibrancy of our students are undeniable. Finally, I would like to express my sincerest thanks to everyone in our school community for all you do to support our students. It has been heart-warming to see everyone’s commitment to student learning. As always, I look forward to connecting with you throughout the year! Wishing you all the best, Bill Egan Principal |
