Dear NCHS Family,
Let me begin by wishing you all a Happy and Healthy New Year filled with many successes and continued progress. During the break, I hope you had the chance to catch up with family and friends and enjoy some downtime.
As we ring in the new year, we see this as an opportunity to check in with students and families to ensure that our students are on-track, prepared, and ready for the second half of the year.
January is always about fresh beginnings and positive change. I love the promise of the new year and all the possibilities that it offers for our students and the potential for great achievement that each new year holds for their future.
We’re not out of the woods yet! Just a friendly reminder, with Covid-19 and flu cases spiking, students should stay home if they are sick. And they should not return or gather with others until they are fever-free without fever-reducing medications. This is a basic principle to prevent the spread of illness. As our nurses mentioned in their health reminder email, they have seen a rise in community transmission of Covid-19 and Influenza. Please continue to practice preventative measures that include physical distancing, proper mask-wearing, and hand hygiene. Pandemic fatigue is real - let’s stay focused on our mitigation strategies to remain healthy and safe.
I am hopeful that 2022 will be a better year and return to the normalcy we are yearning for.
All the best in this new year!
Bill Egan, Principal
