DECEMBER 2023
A NOTE FROM PRINCIPAL EGAN
Principal Bill Egan NCHS

Dear NCHS Family,

It’s hard to believe we are heading into December and ushering in the holiday season. NCHS has many traditions and events that enrich the school community. The festive atmosphere kicks off in early December with captivating performances by the orchestra, choral, and band. These concerts not only highlight the incredible talents of our students but also infuse the school with the spirit of music and celebration.

One of the cherished traditions this season is the "Cocoa and Canes" event on December 19th, a heartwarming gathering sponsored by the School Counseling Department. Santa and his elves make a guest appearance in each classroom, delivering a treat bag filled with cocoa and canes to every student and staff member.

On December 21, our 2023 graduates return for the Alumni Round Table. This unique event provides a valuable opportunity for NCHS graduates to share their first-year experiences with our current senior class. The Alumni Round Table bridges past and present, offering insights, advice, and reflections on life beyond high school. It becomes a source of inspiration for the graduating seniors as they prepare to embark on their journeys.

A unique gift within our NCHS learning community is the selflessness in making a positive difference for needy families. I would be remiss if I did not commend our students and staff for the joy they bring to those who need help the most. Our students actively organize and fundraise throughout the year, and this effort intensifies, particularly during the holiday season. From food drives to Toys for Tots and other outstanding programs, the impact our students make in the lives of many is truly touching.

Wishing everyone a safe and joyous holiday season!

All the best,

Bill Egan, Principal

Post Prom 2024: Please Donate + Send Photos!

The NCHS PFA is happy to continue the tradition of giving our seniors a safe and fun venue in which to keep celebrating after Prom. The Post Prom party held at Waveny House is an enormous undertaking. We will host over 400 students from midnight until 4 AM. There will be food, games, entertainment, music and prizes. Everything is geared toward keeping our students safe on Prom Night. And every year the theme is a surprise!

Post Prom Co-Chairs Katrina Parkhill and Lydia Kremer need your help to create a night of incredible memories for our seniors. Help us make this a special evening for our seniors who missed out on their last significant milestone - the 8th grade celebration.

We are making it easy for you. Just follow the Post Prom Parent Checklist for 12th grade families:

  1. Please make a Post Prom donation of $175 to fund our budget.
